In May 2018 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work The Proud People by Gerard Curtis Delano. The price achieved of USD 396,500.00 (€ 339,760.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00.
