Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work The Shepherdess by Gerard Curtis Delano. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,250.00 (€ 19,267.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerard Curtis Delano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In Bonnet And Paint, Early-Day Sioux Scouts in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 471,000.00 (€ 403,598.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Shepherdess von Gerard Curtis Delano zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 19.267,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerard Curtis Delano erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In Bonnet And Paint, Early-Day Sioux Scouts im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 471.000,00 (€ 403.598,97).
