Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Autumn Glory (Summit County, Colorado) by Gerard Curtis Delano was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,930.00 (€ 5,710.75). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerard Curtis Delano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In Bonnet And Paint, Early-Day Sioux Scouts in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 471,000.00 (€ 403,598.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Autumn Glory (Summit County, Colorado) von Gerard Curtis Delano im Januar 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.930,00 (€ 5.710,75) den Besitzer.
