Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work The Forest Fire by Gerard Curtis Delano for USD 137,500.00 (€ 122,428.99). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerard Curtis Delano - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In Bonnet And Paint, Early-Day Sioux Scouts, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 471,000.00 (€ 403,598.97).
