Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Scouting Party (The War Party) by Gerard Curtis Delano for USD 10,075.00 (€ 8,650.30). This price was achieved in the auction California and Western Art40th Anniversary Auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerard Curtis Delano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In Bonnet And Paint, Early-Day Sioux Scouts in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 471,000.00 (€ 403,598.97).
