Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman, which included the work Scouting Party sight 15 x 20 in. framed 24 1/2 x 29 1/2 in. by Gerard Curtis Delano. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,300.00 (€ 14,821.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerard Curtis Delano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In Bonnet And Paint, Early-Day Sioux Scouts in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 471,000.00 (€ 403,598.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scouting Party sight 15 x 20 in. framed 24 1/2 x 29 1/2 in. von Gerard Curtis Delano zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.300,00 (€ 14.821,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerard Curtis Delano erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In Bonnet And Paint, Early-Day Sioux Scouts im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 471.000,00 (€ 403.598,97).
