Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September this year Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Swamp Rat IV, from Dragsters; First Skydiver, from Parachutes by Gerald Laing. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 832.00 (€ 832.00), 19% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerald Laing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beach Wear in October 2016 with an auction result of GBP 1,565,000.00 (€ 1,743,457.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Swamp Rat IV, from Dragsters; First Skydiver, from Parachutes von Gerald Laing zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 832,00 (€ 832,00) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerald Laing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beach Wear im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.565.000,00 (€ 1.743.457,40).
