A top price for Gerald Geerlings - as previously expected
The work Black Magic (New York 1928) (see Czestochowski 6) by Gerald Geerlings was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,182.50 (€ 4,233.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Black Magic (New York 1928) (see Czestochowski 6) is the most expensive artwork by Gerald Geerlings that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Black Magic (New York 1928) (see Czestochowski 6) von Gerald Geerlings kam im September 2002 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.182,50 (€ 4.233,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Black Magic (New York 1928) (see Czestochowski 6) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Gerald Geerlings, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
