Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Pictures Including Works on Paper by Natalia Goncharova and Mikhail Larionov, which included the work Sailor by Georgy Gurianov. The price achieved of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 64,502.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georgy Gurianov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rower Sergey, which sold at auction in November 2013 for GBP 188,500.00 (€ 226,834.52).
