In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work A British frigate announcing her departure from the estuary by George Webster. The auction ended at the price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,452.15), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by George Webster have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A thirty gun frigate of the blue squadron off Dover castle in choppy seas in July 2006 with an auction result of USD 45,600.00 (€ 35,725.48).

Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime durch, in der auch die Arbeit A British frigate announcing her departure from the estuary von George Webster zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.452,15) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00.
