The result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,229.78) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Webster have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A thirty gun frigate of the blue squadron off Dover castle in choppy seas in July 2006 with an auction result of USD 45,600.00 (€ 35,725.48).
