Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2006 Christies in London held the auction Maritime & Naval Battles (Pictures), which included the work A Merchant Frigate And Smaller Traders Running Up The Thames Estuary Heading For London by George Webster. The price achieved of GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,920.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00.
