Artwork auctioned at eight times the upper estimate price
The work Bathed by George Rouy was worth HKD 1,071,000.00 (€ 127,150.68) to a buyer in May last year. This price was achieved in the auction 21st Century Art Day Sale at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by George Rouy; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Looking At Me Through Gaps Of Her Toes sold at auction in March this year with the realized price of GBP 162,540.00 (€ 184,920.65).

Die Arbeit Bathed von George Rouy war einem Käufer im Mai letzten Jahres HKD 1.071.000,00 (€ 127.150,68) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von George Rouy; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Looking At Me Through Gaps Of Her Toes im März diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 162.540,00 (€ 184.920,65).
