Auction result well in line with expectations
The work King Kong Dog by George Rodrigue was sold in the Contemporary Art Online auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2019. The price achieved of USD 60,000.00 (€ 53,437.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Rodrigue - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work I Hear The Blues, I See The Blues, I Sing The Blues, which sold at auction in March 2009 for USD 170,500.00 (€ 128,572.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit King Kong Dog von George Rodrigue wurde im März 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Online bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 53.437,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von George Rodrigue mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit I Hear The Blues, I See The Blues, I Sing The Blues beobachtet, die im März 2009 für USD 170.500,00 (€ 128.572,51) versteigert wurde.
