Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Elegy On The Madison Square Garden (Farewell To Forty-Ninth St. (No. 1)) by George Lovett Kingsland Morris was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,802.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Lovett Kingsland Morris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Intrusion, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 68,750.00 (€ 60,910.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Elegy On The Madison Square Garden (Farewell To Forty-Ninth St. (No. 1)) von George Lovett Kingsland Morris kam im September 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 29.802,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
