Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Untitled (Abstract Dots) by George Lovett Kingsland Morris. It changed hands for a price of USD 22,680.00 (€ 19,354.84) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Lovett Kingsland Morris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Intrusion, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 68,750.00 (€ 60,910.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Abstract Dots) von George Lovett Kingsland Morris zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 22.680,00 (€ 19.354,84) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Lovett Kingsland Morris mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Intrusion beobachtet, die im November 2021 für USD 68.750,00 (€ 60.910,78) versteigert wurde.
