In April this year Christies in New York held the auction Modern American Art, which included the work Raft on the Lake by George Lovett Kingsland Morris. The »bidding war« ended at USD 50,400.00 (€ 45,652.17), 68% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by George Lovett Kingsland Morris; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Intrusion sold at auction in November 2021 with the realized price of USD 68,750.00 (€ 60,910.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Modern American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Raft on the Lake von George Lovett Kingsland Morris zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 45.652,17) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von George Lovett Kingsland Morris; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Intrusion im November 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 60.910,78).
