This work of art by George Lambert could be acquired at Sothebys in Sydney in November 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work Australian Woman In A Red Dress And Black Hat changed hands for AUD 28,800.00 (€ 17,349.02) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 35,000.00 – 45,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Lambert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A View Of Fonthill, Wiltshire, With Haymakers In The Foreground in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 71,950.00 (€ 119,523.27).
