Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Early British & Irish Paintings, which included the work Village Pond With Two Men In A Punt by George Lambert. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 22,318.68). Admittedly, works by George Lambert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A View Of Fonthill, Wiltshire, With Haymakers In The Foreground in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 71,950.00 (€ 119,523.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Early British & Irish Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Village Pond With Two Men In A Punt von George Lambert zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 21.250,00 (€ 22.318,68) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Lambert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A View Of Fonthill, Wiltshire, With Haymakers In The Foreground im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 71.950,00 (€ 119.523,27).
