Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Australian Four Decorative Wood Panels by George Lambert for AUD 22,800.00 (€ 13,633.87). This price was achieved in the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works at Sothebys in Melbourne and was even below the estimate range of AUD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by George Lambert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A View Of Fonthill, Wiltshire, With Haymakers In The Foreground in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 71,950.00 (€ 119,523.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Australian Four Decorative Wood Panels von George Lambert für AUD 22.800,00 (€ 13.633,87) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works bei Sothebys in Melbourne erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Lambert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A View Of Fonthill, Wiltshire, With Haymakers In The Foreground im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 71.950,00 (€ 119.523,27).
