Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mountainous Landscape by George Lambert was sold in the Old Master and British Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in October 2011. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,233.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Lambert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A View Of Fonthill, Wiltshire, With Haymakers In The Foreground in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 71,950.00 (€ 119,523.27).
