Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by George Knapton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in April this year. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work Portrait of a girl, half-length, in a pink and white dress, within a painted oval; and Portrait of a boy, half-length, in a buff coat, within a painted oval (2) sold for GBP 15,300.00 (€ 17,437.01) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Knapton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Lady Elizabeth Howard (1701-1739), Eldest Daughter Of Charles Howard, 3Rd Earl Of Carlisle, In Turkish Costume in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 109,250.00 (€ 139,155.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Knapton erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a girl, half-length, in a pink and white dress, within a painted oval; and Portrait of a boy, half-length, in a buff coat, within a painted oval (2) für GBP 15.300,00 (€ 17.437,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00.
