Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work 'Mrs. Edward Weston - At Studio In Carmel' by George Hurrell. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,724.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by George Hurrell have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2000 the work Hurrell, Portfolio I was auctioned for USD 4,700.00 (€ 5,538.53).
