Despite a disappointment, a good price for George Hurrell
When the work Hurrell, Portfolio I by George Hurrell was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,700.00 (€ 5,538.53). Despite this disappointing result, Hurrell, Portfolio I is the most expensive artwork by George Hurrell that we have observed at auction so far.

Als die Arbeit Hurrell, Portfolio I von George Hurrell im Oktober 2000 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
