Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Upper Manhattan by George Benjamin Luks for USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,531.53). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Benjamin Luks achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lily Williams in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 1,874,500.00 (€ 1,515,482.25).
