Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape, Pale Montauk by George Benjamin Luks was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2018. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,618.43) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Benjamin Luks achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lily Williams in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 1,874,500.00 (€ 1,515,482.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Landscape, Pale Montauk von George Benjamin Luks wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.618,43) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Benjamin Luks erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lily Williams im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.874.500,00 (€ 1.515.482,25).
