The work The Swan Boats by George Benjamin Luks was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2018. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,155,000.00 (€ 989,717.22), 65% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by George Benjamin Luks; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Lily Williams sold at auction in May 2010 with the realized price of USD 1,874,500.00 (€ 1,515,482.25).

Die Arbeit The Swan Boats von George Benjamin Luks wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.155.000,00 (€ 989.717,22) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von George Benjamin Luks; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Lily Williams im Mai 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 1.874.500,00 (€ 1.515.482,25).
