Auction result misses estimated price range
In November this year a collector was able to acquire the work Shack in the Woods by George Benjamin Luks for USD 4,480.00 (€ 4,107.08). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Benjamin Luks achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lily Williams in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 1,874,500.00 (€ 1,515,482.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Shack in the Woods von George Benjamin Luks für USD 4.480,00 (€ 4.107,08) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Benjamin Luks erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lily Williams im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.874.500,00 (€ 1.515.482,25).
