Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Rote Dächer (Red Roofs) by Georges Merkel. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,762.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Georges Merkel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pierrot Et Pierrette in October 2011 with an auction result of EUR 25,322.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rote Dächer (Red Roofs) von Georges Merkel zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.762,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Georges Merkel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pierrot Et Pierrette im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 25.322,00.
