The work Kauernde by Georg Kolbe was auctioned at Christies in New York in May this year. It achieved a price of USD 44,100.00 (€ 41,392.90), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georg Kolbe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tänzerin in February 2006 with an auction result of GBP 736,000.00 (€ 1,082,490.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Kauernde von Georg Kolbe kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 41.392,90) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georg Kolbe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tänzerin im Februar 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 736.000,00 (€ 1.082.490,90).
