Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study for Unknown Political Prisoner by Geoffrey Clarke was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,027.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Geoffrey Clarke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Man in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,862.46).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.027,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Geoffrey Clarke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Man im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 32.862,46).
