This artwork by Geoffrey Clarke achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2021. In the Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale auction, the work Form sold for GBP 3,780.00 (€ 4,404.68) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Geoffrey Clarke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Man in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,862.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Geoffrey Clarke erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Form für GBP 3.780,00 (€ 4.404,68) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Geoffrey Clarke auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Man im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 32.862,46).
