Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Geoffrey Clarke could be acquired at Christies in London in March last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale auction, the work Bird I changed hands for GBP 9,500.00 (€ 11,263.32) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Geoffrey Clarke - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Man, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,862.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Geoffrey Clarke konnte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Bird I für GBP 9.500,00 (€ 11.263,32) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Geoffrey Clarke mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Man beobachtet, die im November 2010 für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 32.862,46) versteigert wurde.
