Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale, which included the work Two Troughs & Flat Bar II by Geoffrey Clarke. It changed hands for a price of GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,607.02) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Geoffrey Clarke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Man in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,862.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Troughs & Flat Bar II von Geoffrey Clarke zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.607,02) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Geoffrey Clarke auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Man im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 32.862,46).
