Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Head Iii by Geoffrey Clarke was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2020. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,142.80). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Geoffrey Clarke - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Man, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,862.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Head Iii von Geoffrey Clarke wurde im November 2020 in der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.190,00 (€ 9.142,80) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Geoffrey Clarke mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Man beobachtet, die im November 2010 für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 32.862,46) versteigert wurde.
