This artwork by Gao Xingjian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018. In the Modern Asian Art auction, the work Wind sold for HKD 112,500.00 (€ 11,870.55) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gao Xingjian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work By the Lake in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 57,881.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gao Xingjian erzielte im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Wind für HKD 112.500,00 (€ 11.870,55) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gao Xingjian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit By the Lake im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 57.881,92).
