The work View by Gao Xingjian was sold in the Modern Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018. It achieved a price of HKD 87,500.00 (€ 9,232.65), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. Admittedly, works by Gao Xingjian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work By the Lake in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 57,881.92).

Die Arbeit View von Gao Xingjian wurde im April 2018 in der Auktion Modern Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 87.500,00 (€ 9.232,65) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gao Xingjian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit By the Lake im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 57.881,92).
