This artwork by Gao Xingjian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016. In the Contemporary Ink Art : Journey auction, the work Mountains And Streams (Monts Et Cours D'Eau) sold for HKD 237,500.00 (€ 27,948.82) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gao Xingjian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work By the Lake, which sold at auction in November 2016 for HKD 475,000.00 (€ 57,881.92).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gao Xingjian erzielte im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Ink Art : Journey wurde die Arbeit Mountains And Streams (Monts Et Cours D'Eau) für HKD 237.500,00 (€ 27.948,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gao Xingjian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit By the Lake beobachtet, die im November 2016 für HKD 475.000,00 (€ 57.881,92) versteigert wurde.
