Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Composition No. 56 by Friedrich Vordemberge-Gildewart. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 134,500.00 (€ 163,180.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Friedrich Vordemberge-Gildewart - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work „Composition No. 42“., which sold at auction in November 2015 for EUR 350,000.00.
