Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work A New England Lake by Frederic Church. The price achieved of USD 1,812,500.00 (€ 1,523,365.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederic Church - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Valley Of Santa Isabel, New Granada, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 5,026,250.00 (€ 4,306,983.72).
