Auction result well in line with expectations
The work South American Landscape by Frederic Church was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,580,000.00 (€ 1,433,886.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederic Church - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Valley Of Santa Isabel, New Granada, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 5,026,250.00 (€ 4,306,983.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit South American Landscape von Frederic Church wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500.000,00 – 2.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.580.000,00 (€ 1.433.886,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederic Church mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Valley Of Santa Isabel, New Granada beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für USD 5.026.250,00 (€ 4.306.983,72) versteigert wurde.
