Auction result misses estimated price range
In January last year a collector was able to acquire the work Winter Scene in Hartford by Frederic Church for USD 175,000.00 (€ 156,082.77). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century American Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederic Church achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Valley Of Santa Isabel, New Granada in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 5,026,250.00 (€ 4,306,983.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Winter Scene in Hartford von Frederic Church für USD 175.000,00 (€ 156.082,77) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century American Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederic Church erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Valley Of Santa Isabel, New Granada im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.026.250,00 (€ 4.306.983,72).
