Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Final Study For The Icebergs by Frederic Church was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2013. The price achieved of USD 905,000.00 (€ 656,796.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frederic Church have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Valley Of Santa Isabel, New Granada in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 5,026,250.00 (€ 4,306,983.72).

Die Arbeit Final Study For The Icebergs von Frederic Church wurde im Dezember 2013 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 905.000,00 (€ 656.796,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederic Church auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Valley Of Santa Isabel, New Granada im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.026.250,00 (€ 4.306.983,72).
