Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Franz Priking was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,725.00 (€ 1,788.86). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Franz Priking - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still life of fruit on a table, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 5,760.00 (€ 4,306.86).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Franz Priking im Februar 2000 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.725,00 (€ 1.788,86) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Franz Priking mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still life of fruit on a table beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 5.760,00 (€ 4.306,86) versteigert wurde.
