This artwork by Franz Marc achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in February 2020. In the Impressionist, Modern & Surrealist Art Evening Sale auction, the work Zwei Blaue Esel (Pferd Und Esel) (Two Blue Donkeys - Horse And Donkey) sold for GBP 4,070,600.00 (€ 4,717,834.63) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Franz Marc achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Foxes (Die Füchse) in March last year with an auction result of GBP 42,654,500.00 (€ 50,571,710.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Franz Marc erzielte im Februar 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist, Modern & Surrealist Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Zwei Blaue Esel (Pferd Und Esel) (Two Blue Donkeys - Horse And Donkey) für GBP 4.070.600,00 (€ 4.717.834,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Franz Marc erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Foxes (Die Füchse) im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 42.654.500,00 (€ 50.571.710,45).
