Auction result well in line with expectations
In September this year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art | Bonhams Skinner, which included the work Evening's Splendor by Frank William Cuprien. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,360.00 (€ 14,512.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank William Cuprien - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Opalescence, which sold at auction in August this year for USD 51,200.00 (€ 47,236.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art | Bonhams Skinner durch, in der auch die Arbeit Evening's Splendor von Frank William Cuprien zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.360,00 (€ 14.512,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Frank William Cuprien mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Opalescence beobachtet, die im August diesen Jahres für USD 51.200,00 (€ 47.236,83) versteigert wurde.
