Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Frank William Cuprien achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August this year. In the California Art auction, the work Opalescent Evening sold for USD 28,160.00 (€ 25,980.26) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frank William Cuprien; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Opalescence sold at auction in August this year with the realized price of USD 51,200.00 (€ 47,236.83).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank William Cuprien erzielte im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion California Art wurde die Arbeit Opalescent Evening für USD 28.160,00 (€ 25.980,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Frank William Cuprien; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Opalescence im August diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 51.200,00 (€ 47.236,83).
