This artwork by Frank Cadogan Cowper achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2011. In the Victorian & British Impressionist Art auction, the work The Blue Bird sold for GBP 373,250.00 (€ 412,931.75) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 150,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frank Cadogan Cowper; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Our Lady of the Fruits of the Earth sold at auction in December 2011 with the realized price of GBP 469,250.00 (€ 561,993.16).

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Frank Cadogan Cowper; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Our Lady of the Fruits of the Earth im Dezember 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 469.250,00 (€ 561.993,16).
