Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Frank Cadogan Cowper achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2016. In the European Art auction, the work British venetian Ladies Listening To The Serenade sold for USD 444,500.00 (€ 420,211.76) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frank Cadogan Cowper; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Our Lady of the Fruits of the Earth sold at auction in December 2011 with the realized price of GBP 469,250.00 (€ 561,993.16).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank Cadogan Cowper erzielte im November 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion European Art wurde die Arbeit British venetian Ladies Listening To The Serenade für USD 444.500,00 (€ 420.211,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00.
