Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work The Young Duchess by Frank Cadogan Cowper. The price achieved of GBP 100,000.00 (€ 112,121.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frank Cadogan Cowper have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Our Lady of the Fruits of the Earth in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 469,250.00 (€ 561,993.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Young Duchess von Frank Cadogan Cowper zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 100.000,00 (€ 112.121,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Cadogan Cowper auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Our Lady of the Fruits of the Earth im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 469.250,00 (€ 561.993,16).
